Bond Buzz, Issue #13
June 22, 2004
Free from Bond America!

Dear Friends,
Welcome all Bond Sweater Machine® and Wyr Knittr™ owners to another issue of the “Bond Buzz” e-newsletter!!

I’ve got lots of great stuff to tell you -- it’s hard to know where to begin, but here goes:

CALLING ALL NEW SWEATER MACHINE OWNERS!
We are very pleased to announce that new beginner classes are now taking registrations at all Jo-Ann Superstores! If you’ve never taken your machine out of the box or just need a refresher class, head to your local Jo-Ann Superstore to sign up! Classes begin in August and there are two 2-hour classes per course where you learn the basics of setting up and knitting on your machine, then you’ll make a wonderful scarf using Caron’sJewel Box yarn, which knits up so easily on the machine. Classes are also very reasonable at $40 for the course. If you’re not sure your local Jo-Ann’s is a superstore, click here to to find out.

NEW TOOL!
The Embellish-Knit!(tm) has finally arrived! It’s the greatest tool for making yards of knitted cording in minutes to use as edgings, ties, frog closures, trims, purse handles and embellishing, edgings for pillows, accents for sweaters -- it’s limitless! We even have a great new Braided Scarf pattern free online here. While it has shipped to some stores, if you can’t find it in your area yet, you can purchase it on our online store. The Embellish-Knit! comes with the machine, weighted clip, practice yarn and instructions with five project patterns. It uses nearly all lightweight yarns and is especially good using Caron’s Simply Soft yarn.

COOL FOR TEENS!
It’s the Cool Corder! While the CC is similar to the Embellish-Knit, it’s really for kids 8 and up. Make hair ties, totally cool bracelets using embroidery floss, beaded keychains, braided retro belts, loopy scarves and lots more. Click here for a free pattern for the Loopy Scarf. The Cool Corder comes with a very cool mini-mag with loads of ideas and patterns, practice yarn, weighted clip, embroidery floss and pony beads. You can purchase it online here.

NEXT ISSUE OF BOND BUZZ
Since I’ll be back in Rwanda to do more training and help with more projects for the knitters, the next Bond Buzz won’t go out until mid to late July. My apologies, but it’s for a good cause. The knitters in Rwanda love using their Sweater Machines so much, they are ripping out completed sweaters so they can continue to knit! The women who knitted the Scarves for Peace now have enough money to purchase yarn to knit sweaters for school uniforms that are sold in local markets – and they don’t need to rip out any more sweaters to be able to knit!. Now we’re helping the next groups make money so they can purchase yarn. For more information on the Rwandan Scaves for Peace click here.

NEW PATTERN and TECHNIQUE ARTICLE
Since I won’t be writing again until after the Fall issue of Family Circle Easy Knitting comes out, I’m writing about it now. Be sure to pick it up, as it has a pattern for a super-simple “wear-to-work-and-more” jacket made in Caron's exciting new Jewel Box yarn. You’ll also learn about blocking and finishing. Remember that each issue of the magazine will have at least one project and always one technique article especially for Sweater Machine owners.

Until next time, happy knitting,

Cari
